Thats kinda true. Because the Dems never consider what Leftists think. They’re pretty open that they’d rather let the Republicans win, then let a Leftist have a shot.
notably, they dont consider the interests of leftists whether they vote or not

your argument only makes sense if you think sexual assault is inevitable in prisons. the idea that a prison can’t stop someone from sexually assaulting someone else is absurd.

Are you having some psychotic episode?
please don’t use psychotic as a pejorative. please stop using ableist rhetoric.
constructing a dichotomy between “manipulative sociopaths” and “honest intelligent people” is a moral argument. you are literally casting one of these groups as not people.
you are nitpicking my assertion that saying someone is not a person is interchangeable with calling them evil. this is not an important part of what i said. if it helps, you will reread my comment and replace ‘evil’ with ‘not a person’ and then respond to that.

can we chill with the ableism? “sociopathic manipulators” vs “honest intelligent people” is a fucked up way to think about the world. “manipulative sociopaths” are, in fact, people, who are just as complex and inconsistent and deserving of life as “honest intelligent people.” no one is born evil, there are no demons hiding amongst you, it’s just people. an individual can be honest and intelligent and manipulative and do harm and prevent it and end up popular or ostracized. these qualities aren’t mutually exclusive or moral and do not exist in a vacuum.
the ruling class is not full of “manipulative sociopaths,” it’s full of people who are incentivized to stand together to serve themselves by exploiting and oppressing everyone below them. it has everything to do with their circumstances and almost nothing to do with their ‘nature.’
you understand a “sociopath” to be inherently evil, and this leaves you vulnerable to anyone who claims they can identify the evil in the room.

i think segregation is bad and causes problems

maybe we shouldnt let prisoners sexually assault each other regardless of gender
you manipulated a trans woman into giving you her address so you could call the fucking cops on her? what the fuck?
being an ally means using the privilege you are afforded by your gender to fight for women and magnify their voices. men are part of an oppressor group, which means that they are rewarded for wielding misogyny against women. it is /unusual/ for individual men to reject this. it does not matter whether women “accept you” as an ally, it does not matter whether you think of yourself as an ally. what matters are your actions.
one of the most basic requirements of allyship is understanding that the people your group oppresses will likely be wary of or outright hostile to members of your group and accepting that this is a reasonable and expected reaction to their subjugation.
if your allyship (your amplification of women’s voices, your fight for them and their rights) is determined by how they feel about you (if someone not liking you is enough for you abandon them) then you are not an ally.
women do not have the power to make you an ally or not, but we /can/ identify it: you are not being an ally right now.
yeah, that’s how /systemic racism/ works. systemic does mean only the bureaucracy, it means /everything/. racism is baked into our values, behavior, and perspective from birth. we are not taught racism as some separate thing, everything we are taught is steeped in it. you can’t be non-racist, you either do the work to root out the bigotry you were built with every day to be anti-racist or you remain racist as you were raised. when you do something that /could/ be racist, it will be unless you are vigilant and stop it. all white people are racist by default and all men are misogynist by default. it takes active work to be anti-racist and anti-misogynist, and most people in oppressors groups don’t do that work.
if you think that an oppressed group hating their oppressors is a bridge too far then you are not an ally.
hiyodori’s work has captured the entanglement of sapphic hatred, obsession and love in a way we havent found elsewhere. she writes about women in beautiful places who will inevitably destroy or complete each other.
Carrion Saints is her best and it will never let us go. it is focused, thorough, and very curious about what it would take to make someone hate you forever.
