If they know Siri’s shit then why can’t I have my power button back?
I can sort of see why it’s not been a priority for them. Outside of the US nobody uses SMS or the built in text apps. I just went through my phone and I haven’t had a text message that wasn’t business related since July.
I know we give Ubuntu and Canonical a hard time but I think we’ve got a lot to thank them for. They pretty much spearheaded the movement to change the image of Linux being purely for geeks, and I think there’s a lot of non-enterprise software support that simply wouldn’t be there without them drumming up interest.
When it comes to boycotting just reducing your usage is still a good thing. You also have to think about getting other people onboard. I still use Google Maps and Gmail (simply because it’s connected to all my stuff) but I’ve got plenty of people to use DDG just built showing how the results are arguably better and it’s really easy to !g to Google if you don’t find what you want.
