The dynamic is different with women. What you describe is "pick-me"s and they do exist. There’s also a self-selection going on, as people with specific traits are far more likely to emigrate than others. This is basically never brought up in immigration discourse, but immigrants from one country are by no means a representative slice of the people in that country.
