I’ve lost the podcast episode now, but there was an excellent documentary about organ ownership. Basically after you’re dead then there’s no ownership of the organ. If you want to donate a kidney to your brother, you can’t say that they can take it out of your corpse. If you’re a living donor then you can direct who you want to give it to. If you donate after death then it can only go into the national system for the organ transplant list.
