One academic definition requires system to perform any previously human job by reacting to situation the way human would. By academic definition any washing machine is an AI robot - it performs washing of the clothes while reacting to level ow water, temperature etc. Another academic definition is - a system capable of making it’s own decisions and actions by reacting to internal and external stimuli, and this has never been achieved.

Definition by marketing division of any company is usually whatever that company currently sells.
