I went to a Within Temptation concert. Evanescence was their low profile opening act. They played their old stuff and some of us millennials got hyped. No one cared when they played new stuff.
The sad truth is that Goth metal is a very niche taste and Evanescence is old news.
Now imagine me, a fan of Lacuna Coil, seeing Evanescence and Within Temptation go quasi-mainstream while they stayed in the shadows…
With hindsight I suppose it wasn’t that bad since they are still touring and making new albums, but still.
Within Temptation is still around? I haven’t really listened to them in ages, the last “new” album of theirs I remember was The Heart of Everything, so apparently since 2007.

Sounds like a crowd problem.
The crowd should check out Evanescence’s new stuff, it’s good.

That lacuna coil is not more popular is a tragedy
I enjoy liking obscure bands. Been to a Lacuna Coil concert for £20 and stood in almost touching distance of the stage.
