Okay, let’s clarify. The Islamabad MoU was signed on June 15. As per clause §1, the parties agreed to end hostilities on all fronts and explicitly in Lebanon. Hezbollah agreed. Israel did not, and continued to attack Beirut every day, with the USA’s blessing. The USA could have done any number of things to try to reign in their rabid dog, even something performative, but elected not to do so.

That’s the breach of the ceasefire, and it’s the background to the other breaches of the MoU by the USA that I mentioned above.

It feels like you’re just throwing stuff at the wall here

The USA never interfered in Lebanon and Israel doesn’t have anything to do with the MoU.

Israel even has agreements with Lebanon allowing them to strike back at Hezbollah

So we went from “USA breached the ceasefire first” to “Hezbollah and Israel never stopped fighting”

Everything written previously was incorrect. The Lebanese government did not give Israel permission to strike Hezbollah. If it had, it wouldn’t be a ceasefire. The agreement explicitly states that the Lebanese government not Israel is responsible for disarming Hezbollah.

You’re very close to seeing the light

The agreement with Lebanon states that Israel can retain it’s buffer zone and ‘defend itself’ while Lebanon tries to disarm Hezbollah and remove them from the south

What would you think happens when Hezbollah attacks Israel or Israeli troops during that time? Do you feel the agreement means the Israelis have to sit back and take it?

No, the agreement do not tell Israel they can strike back and israeli is even attacking the official lebanese armt.

Israel was occupying shabaa farms and Hezbollah attacked it during october 8. Israeli as the illegal occupier has zero right to do anything against who they occupy . In the fake 2024 cease fire, Israel also broke it from day 1. They always do it. Fuck you and all your family for defending the terrorist state of Israel

You should really look into the history of Shabaa farms. It was disputed between Lebanon and Syria before the whole attack on Israel over the Golan Heights thingie. Territory around Israel changed hands in the half a century of wars and not just in the north. Half the world would be at war if we could never get over disputed territories like these.

I wish you and your family peace and happiness

I’m explaining why world events are unfolding how they are. Right or wrong, Iran’s view is that the USA could wield massive influence over Israel’s actions with regard to their genocide and their war against Lebanon. The USA and Iran agreed that an end to the hostilities in Lebanon was §1, but the USA did nothing to honor it.

You’re correct that Israel didn’t get a seat at the negotiating table. Nor should they have one. They should get told in no uncertain terms to stop their fucking genocide or face consequences, by their master the USA. Failing that, it’s going to be Hormuz blockade and Red Sea blockade, and now those things are a reality.

The next step is to fuck over Israel’s gas shipments via Azerbaijan by the way.

To get peace in Lebanon, Iran needs to shut down Hezbollah. They never took steps there either. So in that regard, Iran immediately broke #1 by your definition and that explains why things are how they are

Hezbollah want to get back the Shaba farms and want Israel to end the colonization of Palestine , which is the international law position.

You can say all that bullshit all you want. Hezbollah can’t destroy Israel but israel is currently doing it. Taking more land from Palestine, more land from Lebanon , taking more land from Syria, declared sovereignty in the Golan height which is illegal. How is that not doing greater Israel?

The international law position is a two state solution, which Hezbollah opposes.

Claiming that Hezbollah should get the right to attack Israel indefinitely “because they can’t succeed at destroying them anyway” just means endless war and death. You should look at Egypt and Jordan about the alternative

The international law position is that Israel should get the fuck off of the west bank and east Jerusalem which Israel refuse and want to exterminate Palestinians from the land . International law allows a one state solution too.

There is an endless war because Israel is a settler-colonial power. Until they stop, the whole region will have the right to attack Israel, and Israel will have no right to defend itself

Do you think Russia has the right to defend itself against Ukraine and it’s ally?

Hezbollah agreed to stop fighting and they virtually kept their word for a month while Israel bombed Beirut every single day. We know who the real aggressors are, incapable of making a deal, and it’s the United States and their dog Israel.

              Real agressors

If Hezbollah hadn’t attacked Israel 3 years ago there wouldn’t even be a conflict in Lebanon today. All those people would have been alive. All those buildings would be standing

But you seem to ‘know’ what’s the real issue and only pick out what reinforces it

I’m not interested in a “who started it” between genocidal colonists and Hezbollah. Hezbollah didn’t exist when Israel occupied Lebanon, it exists because it did, and it continues to have widespread suppory in Lebanon because Israel continues to be aggressive against all of its neighbors.

What’s interesting is whether the war could have stopped or not. As you know by now, Hezbollah agreed to stop fighting and kept their word while being bombed, giving Israel ample opportunity to get to their senses, if they had any sense to get to.

The point being that the USA did nothing to pressure Israel to stop bombing Lebanon, and hence thr MoU didn’t hold, since that was clause 1.

Why would you use the term “real aggressors” if you’re “not interested in who started it”???

Hezbollah was created for two main reasons:

To drive Israel out of Lebanon & To create a Shia heavyweight to influence Lebanon during and post civil war

Israel invaded Lebanon to stop the PLO from attacking them and try to create a christian buffer state. Hezbollah drove Israel out and defeated the PLO. So goal #1 accomplished, no? Then why would they keep attacking Israel from within Lebanon?

Goal #2, having Hezbollah dominate Lebanon politics as a proxy for Syria and Iran, has sure made the country into a paradise. Do you feel that made anything better?

Can you explain how the baseline idea of Hezbollah being allowed to attack Israel, reaching a ceasefire, then rearming to attack Israel again will make anything better?
