Iran played the game our way, then trump threw the game out the window and blamed Iran. So Iran says “F your rules” and all bets are off.

Trump literally admitted he would’ve never attacked Iran if they had nukes. He basically told the world “get nukes as fast as possible or I’m gonna invade you next!”.

Trying to get an nuke would also start the war though . Hillary the warmonger also said the same thing about annihilating iran if they try to get a nuke

They all say that, but look at the DPRK… no one has even mentioned invading or “annihilating” them ever since they got their nukes.

Imma use this comment to bitch

I took a class forever ago, something like international relations, and the teacher said “this course will teach you why capitalism is bad”. It was shortened because it was a summer course and they never got around to actually explaining their stance

During the first few days, when trying to name countries that had nukes and came up short one, I said “North Korea” and they snapped back at me “North Korea doesn’t have any nukes” so I kinda didn’t pay attention for the rest of the class. Passed it because all I needed was credits. I learned nothing. But that has annoyed me for far too long

I think I know what you mean, I also feel a bit “mandela-ed” with this tbh. I do remember quite vividly that the DPRK didn’t have nukes. Like at least until Trump 1. But idk, in this reality they do lol 🤷‍♂️

It might have been true at the tine, nk didn’t sucessfully test its first nuke until 2006. I suspect the US accusing them of selling yellowcake to Iraq accelerated things.

After the US murdered hundreds of children, but before the US violated its own ceasefire, Iran was willing to store excess enriched uranium in a third country. Its actually insane how conciliatory and willing to give the US an exit Iran has been.

It’s was Iran that resumed attacks after the ‘ceasefire’, after internal opposition flared up against the politicians that had agreed to it

Actually no. The USA breached several of the clauses in the MoU immediately after signing it. Including threatening the life of negitiators (in violation of #1 and #2), and trying to divert traffic through the shallow southern coast of the Persian Gulf (in violation of #5).

Okay, let’s clarify. The Islamabad MoU was signed on June 15. As per clause §1, the parties agreed to end hostilities on all fronts and explicitly in Lebanon. Hezbollah agreed. Israel did not, and continued to attack Beirut every day, with the USA’s blessing. The USA could have done any number of things to try to reign in their rabid dog, even something performative, but elected not to do so.

That’s the breach of the ceasefire, and it’s the background to the other breaches of the MoU by the USA that I mentioned above.

It feels like you’re just throwing stuff at the wall here

The USA never interfered in Lebanon and Israel doesn’t have anything to do with the MoU.

Israel even has agreements with Lebanon allowing them to strike back at Hezbollah

So we went from “USA breached the ceasefire first” to “Hezbollah and Israel never stopped fighting”

Everything written previously was incorrect. The Lebanese government did not give Israel permission to strike Hezbollah. If it had, it wouldn’t be a ceasefire. The agreement explicitly states that the Lebanese government not Israel is responsible for disarming Hezbollah.

You’re very close to seeing the light

The agreement with Lebanon states that Israel can retain it’s buffer zone and ‘defend itself’ while Lebanon tries to disarm Hezbollah and remove them from the south

What would you think happens when Hezbollah attacks Israel or Israeli troops during that time? Do you feel the agreement means the Israelis have to sit back and take it?

I’m explaining why world events are unfolding how they are. Right or wrong, Iran’s view is that the USA could wield massive influence over Israel’s actions with regard to their genocide and their war against Lebanon. The USA and Iran agreed that an end to the hostilities in Lebanon was §1, but the USA did nothing to honor it.

You’re correct that Israel didn’t get a seat at the negotiating table. Nor should they have one. They should get told in no uncertain terms to stop their fucking genocide or face consequences, by their master the USA. Failing that, it’s going to be Hormuz blockade and Red Sea blockade, and now those things are a reality.

The next step is to fuck over Israel’s gas shipments via Azerbaijan by the way.

To get peace in Lebanon, Iran needs to shut down Hezbollah. They never took steps there either. So in that regard, Iran immediately broke #1 by your definition and that explains why things are how they are

The usa broke the mou so Iran has the right to nullify it. The mou state that only iran and oman would have to decide together how to manage the straight, the usa still tried to create alternative routes so it could restart full scale war
