It might not mean anything, but it could mean something. One very specific thing.
Mfw Bethesda pushes a new update to NV a week before this releases that fixes nothing and breaks everything, even though they didn’t develop the game.
“Now introducing Creation Club for New Vegas!”
To anyone who sees this later, I regret to say that there was a followup to this article: https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/iron-galaxy-says-the-fallout-new-vegas-image-it-posted-yesterday-doesnt-mean-anything-we-use-that-slide-every-month-and-has-nothing-to-do-with-anything-fallout-being-worked-on/
Now, make of that article what you will. But do read it.
Man, that article is a big iron.

Wasn’t the Oblivion remaster kind of crap? I’m a shameless Oblivion nostalgia fanboy, but even I avoided it in lieu of waiting for Skyblivion.
And seeing how NV uses Oblivion’s engine, meaning they’ll probably use the same dev strategy… uh, why are folks getting so excited?
The remaster was awesome IMO and oblivion was always my favorite elder scrolls.
The graphical upgrade as well as the Unreal Engine scripting giving access to new modding possibilities it has been an all around great up date and has popped oblivion back into my game rotation.
Isn’t performance horrible though? I thought frametime consistency was crazy even on really fast hardware.
I have it running usually around 55-60 fps, that with a 3070 running it.
Thought you’re correct in that they seem to have not done too much to optimize it and it’s inherited many of the same issues as the base game had.
Luckily a lot of the mods pretty much directly ported though so it has basically 20 years of modding support
The “inherited” mod support is very interesting, indeed. Upon investigation, “full” Skyblivion is also farther away than I thought, as it doesn’t include the Shivering Isles yet (my favorite part of the game).
…So yeah, perhaps I’m more optimistic now. Not hyped, but still.
They ain’t, just being hyped (to limited success)
Could we get a new fallout game instead maybe?
I’d be happy with NV that worked.
It’s called “Viva New Vegas”, and it slaps
Didn’t try this one. Since I have all the dlc too, I might have to try it this weekend. I can barely get out of primm without crashing, even with mods supposed to fix it. Tapping “save” repeatedly is annoying as hell lol.
There’s also “A Tale of Two Wastelands”, which gives FO3 the same treatment and stitches them into one game. Best experience in the franchise imo. Let me know how you come out!
i tried tale of two wastelands a loooong time ago, worked ok.
got Viva New Vegas running, just made it to Novac and rented a room lol. seems to be working great except resolution. I have 1440p monitors and it doesn’t like that, so playing it windowed in 1080p works great, no stutter, no rough pixels, just like it was meant to be played in 2010!
Moderate success! Glad to hear it :)
resolution fix
this line in falloutprefs.ini, just change the values or whatever else you need.
iSize W=2560
iSize H=1440
my prediction: remaster will fix 0 bugs
It’s the elder scrolls time first, Bethesda has always done it like that and I seriously can’t understand how it seems like most people fail to comprehend this.
You want another FO4?
Yeah, that would be fine.
This is a prime example of why no one should listen to fans.
New Vegas does not need to be dumbed down and turned into a generic looter shooter.
Agreed, FONV already has hi-res mods for those who want it.
Game crashes constantly, even with mods. 1gb memory leaks.
I’ve paid for the game and can’t get it to work.
VNV should fix your issues.
Echoing that I’ve been running VNV and it works remarkably well on my hardware.
It works well on everything. The amount of work I’ve seen put into VNV since 2020 is astounding.
Obviously there won’t be a New Vegas remake. This is clearly teasing Half Life 3
