They’re refuelling in Ireland. There should be a bigger push to stop that. But the Irish premiere (twat) Micheal Martin is over there now to present trump with a bowl of fucking shamrocks if you can believe that, for st. Patrick’s Day (which isn’t for another 2 weeks). In fact, all of the Irish political cabinet has already fucked off to different countries around the world for the next fortnight at an enormous cost to the taxpayer. Then they break up in about 10 weeks for another 10 weeks for summer.🙄
I agree Ireland should be stopping the use of Ireland, a neutral country by its constitution, from allowing acts of war to be committed using its resources, never mind illegal acts of war. However, it’s a tired trope about government wasting money going overseas for st Patrick’s day. It makes sense to leverage the festival about Ireland, that is celebrated outside Ireland too.
It’s got nothing to do with celebrating the festival outside Ireland. Nothing at all. It’s a junket for all of them, people brushing it aside and claiming that it’s a trope to mention it, are part of the issue. Similar to people who vote based on family history rather than personal opinion on who is next for which job.
It may have been true that it was once an advantage for Ireland to have a day or two of the year with the POTUS, but for all of them going away for two weeks+ to 80 destinations around the world is bullshit. Every other country could pick two weeks at random and do the same, but their voters probably wouldn’t stand for it.
Yes, it’s not a out celebration for them. It’s about advancing Ireland politically, economically and as a brand.
If they didn’t go, you’d complain about the missed opportunity I reckon, wondering why they are paid for not going.
I’m glad that it’s 80+ countries and not just a photo op at the white house. The USA, our traditional ally cannot be trusted. There are multiple stories of Irish people on the media being jailed by ICE.

It’s really a massive bunch of horsecrap. I’m not sure who or why you’re trying to convince that these junkets are a worthy cause, but you come across like one of those FG shills. If it was such a great economically and politically advantage then what is stopping any other country from doing the same (except the voters) and missing such a great opportunity? This is just going to be milked for as long as they can get away with it.

I really don’t think you know me at all, let alone well enough to assume such crap. I don’t think that they should go, and that would be the last thing I would complain about if they didn’t. There is nothing on this green earth that would or could convince me that these junkets are worth the toilet paper that I’ve wiped my ass with. It started as one with good intentions and then greed and jealousy crept in. Whatever you think about this being a noise that will and should be brushed aside for other things, I’m firmly of the belief that a big stink is coming over these.

So, basically all of those years bringing shamrocks amounted to nothing? But you think doing the same in 80+ other countries won’t?
🙄🙄🫡
No more OT discussion. This post is mainly about discouraging the countries from helping out in the illegal war… We already know politicians are greedy.
I agree, but is this something that Holyrood actually has the power to do?
Swinney replied: “I am in no way shape or form a supporter of what has happened in the course of the last few days … I am taking steps within government to establish the details around the use of Prestwick airport.
“When the government has more to say to parliament about that, we will do so.”
It sounds like they’re double checking if they can intervene, as it’s not a military airfield and this is clearly an illegal war, they may have some clout.
🤞🤞 here’s hoping.
Honestly Scotland makes better calls on most things than Westminster does…so, very much hopeful that this is something in Holyrood is able to have a say about… maybe Westminster won’t decide to slap their baby dick on the table throw all the toys out the pram and allow some good to be done…
Absolutely not, unfortunately
Good, but I’m confused about Spain, because I did read multiple articles, did Spain actually ban them?
the confusion was planted by the trump administration. they just stated that spain agreed to support them, which is a straight lie. spain made it very clear that they will not support this illegal war and that the americans can fuck off.
Great, thanks both of you guys. I still stand with Spain! FUCK USA!
Thanks!
