Birds of prey grow rapidly.

The first photo is Bronwyn on arrival day (2/24). The second and third photo are from yesterday (3/6). You can just about sit and watch them growing.

    It is only about 8 weeks from when they hatch to being out flying around on their own. They grow tremendously quickly.

    I love how when they’re really tiny they barely even look like owls, the whole flat facial feather pattern hasn’t kicked in yet 😭 they’re so cute

      It’s fun watching the grown up owl emerge from within, especially since each step of development lasts only for such a short time.

      It’s looking nice and plump, but still has the mostly bare tail nub hanging out, the facial disc is just starting to become defined, and there are nice highlights of adult plumage poking out from the fuzzy down.

      They’re still little grumps, but oh so cute. 🥰
