At work we have bad documentation dept. Almost nothing is fully documented and most of the documentation is either outdated or has never been up to date (or accurate) in the first place. Old documentation is deleted without checking if it is still relevant… ect.

But somehow someone actually wanted Copilot to magically fix everything.

Luckily enough people seem to get that this won’t work, so our manager resorted to ask us in a team meeting if anyone had ideas for problems that “AI” could fix. It’s insane.

That’s fuckin awesome. Turning up to work with an unreliable tool and asking people (who have better things to do) to find stuff that the tool might be able to fix.

Sometimes, I feel like a lobotomy is a prerequisite to getting into management. I don’t know what happens to some people as soon as they step up into that layer of work. It’s wild lol

AI won’t magically make the graph go up and to the right

“We dont need it to go to the right we just need it to go up, really it would be ideal if it only went up, great metrics for the quarter” -that same CEO

We use a software for elderly event calendars.

The amount of ai slop tacked onto this program in the last year that slows down an already struggling system is my own window into the shit. Feel for the devs who easily have a running list that gets kicked down the fucking road because it isn’t a priority.

They want you to upload life stories to the database to then auto create biographies in the about section.

I got looked at like a freak when I said “where does this mp3 of the most sensitive life story information go. it lives somewhere. Where does it go”

“Does ai abide by HIPAA?” it’s protected information when they pay x amount for security that includes their personal privacy.

These companies are frothing at the mouth for all these anecdotes/training data from a population that otherwise wouldn’t engage. Fucking disgusting.

Ugh I wish my CEO would try and apply AI to something. They’re super paranoid about IP security (despite the fact that our IP would be fairly useless to anyone else) so we aren’t allowed to use any third party AI tools and they won’t provide a local AI server. So stupid.
