He says “that’s not why I sent you that; I didn’t even think about that until you said something!”

…Sir.

What is this game, and is it going to be like mental time travel where I look away and suddenly it’s Thursday and I haven’t eaten or slept in two full days?

Yes. It’s an engineering game that can def put you in flow and disrupt your sleep and self control.

If you know space chem.or zachtronics, well, it’s a zachtronics game.

If not: You are an alchemist, which means you use these tiny arms and other tools to assemble molecules. Just assembling something automatically is an accomplishment, but many aim to optimize the amount of space used, the speed at which molecules are constructed, and/or the cost of the machine itself.

Hubs says yes he bought it the 18th and has 24h playtime on steam and that it is by the same developer as “Space Chem.”

      Personally I’m enjoying Breakout 71 from F-Droid.

Basically you perform “alchemy” by designing machines to assemble molecule-like structures. The only requirement to progress is that the target molecule gets produced, but you get scored based on how efficient your machine is.

I finished Space Chem but not Magnum Opus. I actually think it’s for the stupidest reason, that Space Chem is pretending that I’m making real molecules instead of alchemy or whatever.

It’s like the interdimensional cable version of a post.

I know all of the words that are being used, but I have no idea why they fit together.

I feel like the whole point is that the imagery is pretty clear, especially with animation. I firmly believe my husband is playing dumb. I know nothing about this game but it just is what it is. I guess maybe that’s it; maybe he’s just too locked into the mechanics to have noticed, but I doubt it.

Ok… What is wrong with you?? You come here to post this kind of stuff… Just to enjoy while you destroy lives?? And if that mesmerizing ball building game doesn’t work, then you go with a side-hit and talk about that Breakout 71?

Shame! Shame on you! Stop trying to destroy people’s lives! When my wife complains about this breakout game I will tell her it is your fault!

I’ve been finishing up on EXAPUNKS myself lately. Man I love Zachtronics.

Apparently so, in 2022. However they seemed to have released a DLC for Opus Magnum about a month ago, so make of that what you will.

Hence my confusion. I don’t know how to find out more about what’s going on but apparently zachtronics as a company is owned by ‘Alliance Media Holdings,’ and the DLC release coincides with the addition to the Nintendo store, so I’d guess we have the company that bought the IP hiring someone to port it to switch to get access to an untapped market segment and adding a few more levels via DLC to the PC version to kick up some buzz amongst the older players and help sales.
