Awrite troops, foos yer doos? Packin awa? Mixed spring weekend for most, who’s daein summin tae share?
Big excitement Sunday: a brave pal is driving me to a quiet area so I can have a crack at making emergency stops. I buggered my knee slipping on ice in January and haven’t been able to drive since. Feeling pretty confident!
Hope your knee is getting better and the emergency stopping goes well!!
Thanks!
Well done to you and your pal for attempting, takes a lot to get back behind the wheel after a knock
I’m highly motivated - our bus service isn’t great. Though I must say, I always get a seat, and the drivers have been brilliant.
Good morning! I am waking up fresh after organising a very successful party for my work family last night! Absolute blast and just what was needed to celebrate a hard term!! 1 more week to go!!!
Not even a week, 4 working days now. Got any flight/ferry/train plans for April? A week in Caithness for me
Lol of course!! Only 4 days! Are you going to Caithness with the kids? Will be great to get a break away. I’ve book a 5 night break in Nerja, Spain. Hopefully get a bit of sun and time to read my books, drink some cocktails and eat gorgeous foods!
Spain sounds lush. And with the kids is subject to debate still sadly
Ach thats a shame. Hopefully common sense prevails. At the moment I think the weather might not be great in Spain but a wee break is just whats needed!
It’s my sister’s birthday this weekend, so I’ll be seeing the family for that! Besides gifts and helping cook lunch for her, I’m going to bake her some lebkuchen (a favourite of hers). Her boyfriend is on cake duty so I don’t want to step on his toes
I’m grumpy at myself for failing to get into a good habit of practicing my Gàidhlig and I don’t want to let it slip away. I need to figure out a good way to get myself to do it regularly now that I don’t have the external motivation of the classes. I think something with the litreachan bheag on learngaelic.net, but I’m not sure what yet. Anyone got good advice?
You could try this new hip place ;)
Oh you are a good sibling!! Sounds like lovely family time!! Eat all the cake and try dropping in some gaelic here and there, thats my advice 🤣🤣
Gaelic for cake: ceic. Said the same!
I’ve been struggling post DuoLingo too. I did a few litreachean, and tried some BBC Radio na Gaidheal. But nothing stuck. I may go back to it one day, but doing French instead currently
Well hello there.
Bit oh gairdenin the moro ah reckun, then fancy the Pentlands fer a walk, been a couple of months since ah wis up. Bet it’s burstin intae life!

I think it will be a gardening/reading/tidy up kinda weekend here too. Hopefully it stays dry to get out! I’m going to google the pentlands coz I am terrible at geography but i’m guessing its near Edinburgh!!
Aye, a bus ride away, I think the Pentlands are to Edinburgh as the Lammermuirs are to Glaagow?
And it did not stay dry here, wis hoping my washing wis going out. Nae such luck. Did get some more tidying in the garden done, filled my garden waste wheely bin!
I don’t know the Lammermuirs either!! Hopeless!! Well done on the tidying of the garden! I did no reading or gardening but did get out with the dog for a walk and got sun, rain, sleet, wind!! I also got a pile of party stuff organised to go away, I cleaned the bathroom then washed the floor and hoovered the stairs!
