I remember when KDE 4 came out and how disappointing it was. KDE 3 was the best Linux desktop experience I had so far. But KDE Plasma 4? Man… It was SLOW as balls and chock full of bugs. I actually switched to Gnome 2 at that point.

Then Gnome 3 came out. Switched (or rather, stayed) to MATE for the longest time because Gnome 3 was simply unbearable.

Eventually I decided to give KDE Plasma another shot with Plasma 5 and it was WORLDS better than the previous version. Performance was incredible. Visuals were amazing. And it worked GREAT! I’ve stuck with it ever since.
