    The irony that the USA themselves are responsible for the action that closed the Strait, and adding insult to injury the tolls (and seemingly the oil) is paid for in yuan, instead of dollars.

    What an own goal.

      Not the same - the Strait of Hormuz includes international waters, which are also being blocked by Iran.

      That being said, it’s absolutely the strategically smart decision, and I don’t blame Iran for it. It’s just not a 1-1 to Egypt controlling a waterway that is 100% completely inside their borders. It just has more in common with a blockade than a simple denial of access to territorial waters.
