I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s not your fault that the modern world is so fucking hard for us.

And it’s not just us, even neurotypical folks are really struggling, but it’s hitting us like a freight train.

We love you being here and we need you to keep being here so badly. We are told from all directions of the modern world that we are the problem - and we need more of us who know how hard it is and can have a little bit of compassion for us.

We can force this world to cut us a break. We can be the ones that stand up for the kids who get yelled at all day because they can’t sit in a chair all day and can’t instantly recall what was told to them 2 minutes ago. We can be the ones who stand up to those who think the only measure of a persons worth is the ability to work in paid employment for 40-80 hours a week.

I love you guys. Just because conformity isn’t our forte and that is the what is valued most in the modern world doesn’t mean you don’t have worth.

Thank you so much for your kind words. The world need more people like you.

Your words hit hard, I struggle a lot with communication and regulating my emotions as I’m audhd and reading a message like this makes me remember that I’m not a burden or something that should disappear.

Hope you have a beautiful life.

I second this. I do not have ADHD, but my partner of 23 years does, and I can see the struggle he sometimes faces.

I will not say living with him is easy. Sometimes it is very challenging. But he brings so much joy, inspiration and adventure to my life, I would not be without it.

Some people on Tumblr really needed this last week. There was a poll asking if the ones with Autism would get rid of it if they could. A lot of people mentioned that they have both Autism and ADHD and would get rid of ADHD in a heartbeat. I am in the minority of people who have come to accept having Autism and ADHD as part of who I am, and I recognize that there’s nothing wrong with me. I’m perfectly fine the way I am. I don’t know who I would be if I got rid of either of them.

I’d rather the world change to be more accepting of people who are different because every difference is important. I was born this way and as far as I’m concerned the world should accept me. It’s no different than being born a brunette or with brown eyes. A more accepting world can exist, but we have to survive in it and thrive in it for that to happen.
