I think too many people are conflict avoidant and timid. They don’t want to “make a scene” so they just let their friends say stupid shit like “the Republicans are good for the economy”, and then the bad ideas never get challenged and never go away.

Don’t forget the projection. They’ll say the opposition is a war hawk and that they are the party of peace… until they get into office.

Every single time. And people fall for it every single time.

This is attribution the cause as “hawks itching for war”. In reality, the military industrial complex makes billionaires richer and US imperialism demands the land, labor, and resources of other nations are exploitable by western elites. It is not random that we keep continuing the cycle, they know what they’re doing.

    You could skip ①.

“How did we get into that war?”

“I’m sure it had something to do with the hijackers!”

When the fuck did everyone decide to become a politician?
Cannibals with causes armed with opinions
All you do is talk like you forgot how to fucking listen

I try to sleep but the dogs keep barking
Must be the tension in the room
It builds a rage in the back of the teeth
    A distaste for civility
Compromise is cheap, conflict is sweet

The space between us fills with dead air
Party lines drawn in the sand
    We could never cross it
    Bastards of social warfare
We had the chance to survive but we fucking lost it

    Traitors turning fiction to fact
The ones who play the saint put the knife in your back
Daggers rain down on the disciples
Daggers rain down on the disciples
    All we know
    Warfare

When the fuck did everyone decide to become a politician?
All you do is talk like you forgot how to fucking listen

    Herdsplitter, left and right
Bring an army of fools to a winless fight
    Herdsplitter, rich and poor
Turn a nation of fools into a nation at war

    We go for the throat
    We do what we’re told
    Another day in the minefield
    Another lie is sold
    And we buy in
Playing the penny slots while they high roll
    Another day in the minefield
    Another lie is sold

The space between us fills with dead air
Party lines drawn in the sand
    We could never cross it
    Bastards of social warfare
We had the chance to survive but we fucking lost it

    Traitors turning fiction to fact
The ones who play the saint put the knife in your back
Daggers rain down on the disciples
Daggers rain down on the disciples
    Warfare

I looked up the song and… Was not what I was expecting, lol. Reading them myself I assumed the band would rap the lyrics, in a rage against the machine style.

Yeah sorry, Fit For An Autopsy if any other readers are curious. Their songs hit me to the bone. They scream our struggles in a way I wish I could.
