Reticulum is a network that runs over various mediums. It supports communication over the internet, hidden internet services (I2P), and radio (packet radio and LoRa). It can be either disaster resilient or hidden, depending on the use case.
It could provide a good layer for discovery and coordination.
Ive played around with it. Its VERY hard to set up…but it actually does what it says better than other platforms in the lora space.
Also its not being updated anymore unfortunately. Its a monumental achievement for any one person to make. Im hoping the community can take a look at some point. With HaLow coming together, it would be cool if we get integration at some point.
There is a port to C++ underway, which still seems to be active:
oh neat! Thanks! I hope it goes far.
How does this compare to Meshcore and Meshtastic?
Reticulum has built in support for sending or receiving data on multiple layers like internet bluetooth wife etc. Mestastic doesn’t. Also meshtastic can be less resource efficient cuz it sends a lot of probing messages.
Source: watched a youtube video once so i am not 100% sure about the second point
Edit: lol, wifi not wife, but who know maybe wife can also forward messages from reticulum
internet bluetooth wife
My new punk band name
The wife protocol, lol.
Not very well documented, that one.

Chastises you for not remembering some data you handled 5 years ago
Both of those use LoRa, as Reticulum can, among other media.
I think the comparison ends there.
Yep I’m hearing a lot about this and there’s a few Lora nodes on it in my area. So am considering looking into it.
