My Auto Zone Rewards card is from 2007, hard to think that the card is close to 20 years old now. Last time I used it, I used it to scrape glue off the side of a truck LOL!

It used to be co-op (see: the name) but it got taken over by a fecking American corporate board without even compensating the co-op members. A bunch of employees quit and I know I will never buy anything from them again.

edit: Heh, it used to be a running joke that when you travel, Americans are wearing Canadian flags, but Canadians are wearing MEC gear. :) That is no longer the case, since MEC gear is a) shit and b) American-owned, but I repeat myself.

I had a really good MEC cycling rain jacket that I’ve had for decades. I started riding to work for the first time in like 15 years recently, and I had it strapped on my bike in case I needed it. I didn’t notice until I got home one day that it had fallen off at some point on the ride. I had a look on the current site, and there’s nothing like it there any more. I’m gutted that I will never be able to replace it.

If I could recommend - I’ve been very happy with my Proviz cycling jacket. It’s a UK company, and the one I have has lasted 4 years so far.

The feature I liked most with the MEC one was the pit zips. Good for the sub-tropics. I’m looking more for wind-proofness than water-proofness.

I had a look at Proviz. They look pretty good. I’m not planning on any night riding but the hi-vis yellow one might work for me. Thanks.

I wear mine for walking after dark too, or even in low light conditions. Really makes me feel a lot safer, and it’s not so gaudy as the yellow. You wouldn’t peg them as bike specific at a glance.

And yeah they do include pit zips. Great feature.

They don’t pay me but they really should, hahah

Ah, that’s cool. I don’t love that the Roots guy is involved, though. Roots has gone to total shit since the 90s, when they outsourced all their work to China. :/

So my opinion has dropped from 5 stars to 1 star, and now it’s back up to 2, hahah.
