I’m betting on that if I ever need to catch up with this nonsense, everything will be so streamlined no catching up is needed. All ”prompt engineering” and manually crafted SKILLS md files or whatever is just going to be a thing of the past.

Until then, I’m happy to avoid AI.

Thats the thing. It takes zero skill. Thats the point, idiots use it because of that.

Its a lot different to say " you better learn bricklaying or youll be left behind!" Because thats an actual useable skill. And you can learn it at any time really.

Exactly my thinking, in the last years. Should ai be able to automate everything, it has no learning curve, so why invest time into it?

Appropriately a film about resisting Nazis with original, handcrafted songs sung by the indomitable Julie Andrews

    Be like Julie Andrews

As a fellow senior dev - I have lived through more “devs made obsolete” snake oil techs than fit on three bits.

Serious question for people who think it will be like this: what are everyone’s plans for the future? How will you have the money or time to even get to Switzerland and enjoy the mountains?

As for me: I’m envisioning more of a Cyberpunk 2077 future rather than this, minus the cool body modifications of course. Please show me I’m wrong.
