As a rule, publicly funded therapy is crap. The therapist is so overworked that they’re just to stay afloat. You don’t get to choose your public therapist, they’re assigned to you. There is no finding a better therapist. For most of us it’s take what you can get, cause we’re not going to be offered a choice.

Good therapy is expensive and unaffordable.
Oh, believe me, I understand full well how expensive it is, I have to pay out over $100/session after my insurance so I only go once or twice a month.
And you’re dead on about public funded mental health, that’s part of the reason it took me decades to try another one
