Listen to Malcolm X if you haven’t. In history, reformation follows revolutionary acts. While there are those who preach peace, there are also those who use violence to achieve peace. Those in power obviously don’t like to shed light on those that may take up violent acts.
I doubt if the french revolution was occuring today that CNN, CBS, The Washington Post, etc, would say anything. And if they did it would be to demonize the acts.
In the wake of the alleged shooting by Luigi Mangione, insurance providers started approving claims, saving lives. I don’t see major networks pointing out that fact.
“It’s called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.”
Just like every other American dream, open your eyes and it’s gone.
Also I love constantly being reminded by new communities that the place I live and can’t escape is terrible and I’m probably going to die quite early compared to other countries.
I’m sorry the comic affects you that way. This community should be fun, but I get it can hit you hard. The US is so omnipresent in (social) media, it is hard to escape. But I can recommend spending less time there, including Piefed/Lemmy. Maybe there is a good book that waits to be read by you or you always wanted to get into cycling/walking? I wish you the best.
I thought it was hilarious the first time I saw it. It’s so accurate.
I actually have been trying to get out more specifically so I’m not doomscrolling, I usually cycle to a park and bring my ebook and rc car. This week has been rain central and I haven’t been out much but that’s neither here nor there.
It be great if us politics were easier to filter, and that’s coming from a us citizen. I’m sure plenty of non Americans feel the same. I’m not saying nobody should post stuff like this, again, it was funny to me! I just wish it were easier for me to filter.
Sorry, any mention of Healthcare as a Trans person in the US is a bit of a sore subject.
I also wish you a pleasant day :3
