Apple today announced a series of improvements to Liquid Glass, the translucent design language the company introduced last year. Apple said it has heard user feedback, which it "deeply appreciates," and is now making adjustments to the underlying foundations of how Liquid Glass is constructed. Chief among those changes is a new slider that lets users control transparency, ranging from fully opaque to completely clear. Sidebar behavior is also being updated.

It would be nice if they’d simply let us turn it off completely; as in revert to the previous UI.

      I also want it off.

That sounds like the option to “turn it off” to me.

It’s not 100% opaque, but it is about how it was before liquid glass. Apple loves transparency too much to turn it 100% off.

Just turn it off in the Accessibility Settings. Reduce Transparency option

Reduce ≠ off. And it doesn’t affect a lot of other bad ui design decisions.

Agreed. Only use it for a work phone but it’s annoying enough for just that. I can’t imagine dealing with the appearance for my daily driver.

Even with the “fixes” it’s still very unreadable compared to the older version.

A bit too late, that update was so bad and jaring that I ditched ios completely. It sucks because alternatives are not much better.
