Disappointing take. My guess is she’s just not very informed on the allegations.

It’s not something to ignore and sweep under the rug. But it’s also something you should look into the context and fucking have a discussion with the guy about, instead of making a unilateral public statement that plays right into the DNC establishment’s hands. Very frustrating and disappointing move on AOC’s part.

Isn’t it the Democrats that go around saying “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good”?

Yes, but when they say it, it does not refer to past personal mistakes, it means you should ignore that their publicly stated agenda is to fuck you over for money.

Simply ignoring allegations (and adjudicated decrees) of wrongdoing is what the magats do for dear leader, we’re meant to do better. She even goes on to say that it’s worth looking at but not a established fact.

‘progressives’ again attacking their own rather than the facists running amok.

The fascists who joined the military, saw how evil it was on their first tour, stayed and kept going back to kill brown people, then left and joined a private mercenary company to go back to the same theater, considers themselves a WW2 history buff, got a Nazi insignia tattooed their chest, proudly took their shirt off and displayed it for 19 years, became a petite bourgeois farmer of luxury food and joined local politics to protect their economic interests, and then got the tattoo removed and made some basic noise that he had no idea…

      Those fascists?

That narrative make absolutely no sense the second you pick at it. If he’s bougie and a rich kid protecting his own business interests, then his interests align with mainstream DNC and the DNC would back him, not Mills. If his interests were fascist and authoritarian aligned, then he would be in step with current Republican rhetoric and he could just run as that and completely trounce Collins because she’s ancient. Either one isn’t what we’ve actually seen. Instead, entrenched DNC establishment paid big money for attack ads to prop up Mills, and billionaires have been giving millions to Collins to keep her in her seat. If he’s a nazi fascist bourgeoisie plant, why would the fascists and bourgeoisie fight so hard to keep him OUT?

          A) you don’t know the difference between bourgeoisie and petite bourgeoisie
          B) you don’t know what a sheepdog is.
          C) I never said he was a plant.
          D) his worldview, ideology, and beliefs will lead him to maintaining the empire, and if you don’t believe me you can wait a few years and we can watch what happens together

People mindlessly parroting back today’s talking points for the anti-left smear campaign does make you look like a shill, yes.

How about you actually go do, let’s say, 5 minutes of listening or reading to what Platner actually believes or has to say before you speak? You can even set a timer if you like.

I’ve read it. It’s the same bullshit all the other Democrats pandering to the progressives have. AOC, no weapons for Israel, except defensive weapons! Biden, I’m very progressive, but here’s a crime bill! Harris, I’m totally different, but I wouldn’t change anything Biden did and do it exactly the same way! Obama, change is possible, but actually here’s a massive bailout to the banks and Libya’s a slave market now!

It’s all designed to bring you back into the fold. Platitudes and campaign promises are useless. He’s going to make everyone feel so much better when he gets into office and then he’s going to sliiiiide to the right clap clap sliiiide to the right clap clap. How could he not given his fundamentally reactionary background, economic interests, and relationships.

I deleted my previous comment because I wanted to sit on it a bit more.

Technically she isn’t wrong, you should look at the material and make an informed decision.

However, I feel she goes out of her way just a tad too much to distance herself. Also, don’t tell me she isn’t aware that political hit pieces/smears are a thing. She’s been fighting of Fox News and the like for years now.

Agreed, disappointing. At the very least she could have gone with a “no comment at this time”.

AOC is still earning my trust back from her vote to send weapons to Israel, which she swears she will never do again. She’s not wrong about concerns about Platner but I dont want to hear that from her.

You hit the nail on on the head. Both of them have lost significant credibility as progressives and it is a bit ironic that she is the one pointing it out. It is good she is doing it, but it is weird.

The anti-AOC anti-Platner (really just anti-successful progressive) accounts are going to have a hard time figuring out who to be angry at here.
