My phone is on silent, calls divert to voicemail, I get a transcript of the message, if it’s interesting enough, I’ll call back, if not, life goes on … no low battery shenanigans required.
ProTip: You can set your default ringtone to none, so if your phone suddenly decides to disable Do Not Disturb, it still doesn’t ring.
You need an excuse to hang up a call?

Depends were you are. Mine allows wifi calling and airplane mode keeps wifi enabled so calls would still reach me. I actually prefer airplane mode at home since my service is so bad and it seems no matter what iphone prefers cell service over wifi unless absolutely necesarry so i leave it in airplane mode at home to ensure call quality is good.
