    I’m in, just need enough people with us to make it something other than a fancy way to commit suicide. Don’t suppose you have a few hundred thousand close friends?

    Technically that’s already the case, we vote in elections and we have courts.

    However, a significant proportion of the electorate is swayed by the promise of something, without any real means of enforcing it, other than the next election, which starts the cycle again.

    Having shorter election cycles might look attractive, but we’re already dealing with election driven policy, shorter cycles would make it worse, not to mention the massive increase in cost for running more elections.

    We already know that dictatorships don’t work for anyone other than the dictator, but we still elect people who want nothing short of their own immortality and permanent leadership.

    Do we need to improve things, sure, but we’re dealing with something that goes back at least as far as Plato.
