Those people literally might not even be tourists. It’s absolutely impossible to know.

I’ve noticed my style morphing more and more into a tourist stereotype since becoming a father. Cargo shorts, buckethat and carrying a camera everywhere. Luckily my city is less up its own ass about tourism.

-the tourist part and you get an even worse problem. Locals (likely profiting of this) vs locals (who don’t want the bloat and over competition of local supply to these higher earners who don’t even live there) 1st worlders really are stuck in they’re own little ideological echo-chamber, the downside of mindless consumerism and unchecked liberalism without a care for who actually facilitated the nation to begin with. It’s gross.

So force the ones profiting to increase supply, failing that, have the government build it themselves. China proves you don’t need to let a handful of companies artificially restrict the housing supply and food prices.
