Talking about Plug-in Solar regulation in Ireland
Very positive, but still a way off!
Long watch
One thing Ireland is doing very well at right now is rolling out renewable energy. It’s win-win for everyone.
I’m 2/3 in so far. This does seem like good news, and it’s nice to see the various groups interacting - including from outside Ireland. A good line of questioning from some, especially Jen Whitmore.
I don’t see why the independent TD needed to be flippant and put words in people’s mounts - it’s a bad-faith habit. Besides that it was a revealing session.
It sounds like the basic implementation (no battery) will especially benefit people who are actually at home during the day, such as remote workers, or people with appliances running during the day while they are out.
We are so, so late to implementing energy transition and this is more of a lucky strike via Germany than a change of pattern from the government, but it’s something.
