As original films like “Novocaine” and “Mickey 17” struggle and “Captain America” and “Paddington” sequels fall short, when will the box office rebound?

    This is a general rant.

Pretty much everything that I used to enjoy now feels like work.

At some point, comic books went from $2.00 to $7.00. I went from having one cheap streaming service to having five expensive ones. $20.00 to see a movie and don’t even talk to me about seeing live music.

This is attributable to movies not being interesting or good, given there have been 3 billion dollar movies over the past year and Disney had its biggest opening weekend ever with Moana 2. People want to go to the movies, they just aren’t willing to go to the movies for movies that aren’t interesting

I thought Miki 17 was solid, part of the story felt a bit all over the place, but IMO it’s more tolerable for a satirical black comedy.

To be fair, I really like Sci-fi and Bong Joon Ho (discovered him via Memories of Murder way back when), so I am biased.
