It’s a good list at the beginning, but the further you go down, the weirder it gets. It suggests a far-right website like Rumble as a replacement for Youtube, it marks Milka as Swiss even though it is owned by Mondelez and it even offers Tiktok as a replacement for some stuff. I wouldn’t suggest looking at categories that don’t have a picture.
In addition, it even suggests as a Reddit alternative:
VK
Ukraine
Not only is it in fact based in Russia, it’s now in the hands of state-owned Gazprom and its insurance subsidiary SOGAZ, both of whom are subject to EU sanctions, and has actually been banned in Ukraine since 2017.
There is something very dodgy about this Exit50 site.
Thank you both, I edited the title
As an alternative to Coke you mention things like Fanta. I think it was developed in Germany after WW2 but it’s still a Coca-Cola brand and surely the money still flows in to the US from the likes of buying Fanta.
I’m not really sure of the purpose of this site if I’m honest.
ProtonMail is Swiss, but (in my view I should say “and”, actually) it still not a moral choice for me: https://theintercept.com/2025/01/28/proton-mail-andy-yen-trump-republicans/
Brave browser is American btw. (not swiss). Also it is weird if in “European alternatives” you have e.g. only Asian companies as alternative for Asus (Taiwan). Also also Proton is Swiss, not sure why you have it listed like its American (showing alternatives).
It also recommends a Chinese browser which IMO is a lot worse than using an American browser.
