Israel will pull us into WW3. I’m sure of it.
U.S. officials have so far maintained that Iranian retaliation must not target American forces, arguing that the current Israeli operation does not justify attacks on U.S. interests.
This, Israel is desperate to change. Absolutely psychotic nation hellbent on starting WWIII.
Also, the current US president at least has been fine with US forces directly blowing up Iranians and Iranian installations. (Also, for the matter, with Iranians blowing up Americans.) It’s only within the brute logic of geopolitics that they can say with a straight face that Iran “must not” attack Americans.
Every administration has been eyeballing Iran for the last forty years, at least. Going to war with them is the golden goose.
Every politician until a general quietly informs them that Iran can easily sink a carrier.
Everyone wants to do an Operation Praying Mantis, and walk into the briefing room the next day and yell “WHAT’S UP NOW” and then run the meetings from then on. I suspect that it’s a strong motivating factor behind a lot of things which actually aren’t in the best interests of any country from the standpoint of the people in the country.
I reckon Iran might not quite agree with that.
It’d be absolutely justified since the US is in full coordination with Israel. Not sure its wise though.
I don’t think wisdom has been part of the equation for a long time.
Iran has been extremely measured in their responses in the past decade. Israel clearly wants the US to get involved so Iran isn’t going to involve them. I suspect their comfortable with making Israelis feel like Palestinians for once because I don’t think Israelis will tolerate this for much longer.
