These grow like weeds and are heat resistant in this climate. Local groceries have the gall to charge $2 per fruit.

    USDA Agricultural zones. They’re based on the lowest average temp the climate can get. 1 is coldest, 13 is hottest.

    9b means almost never freezes except for a few nights a year and it thaws out when the sun hits. Some perennial tropical plants can be grown there as frost tender annuals.

    I’m just north of San Francisco in 9b.
