These grow like weeds and are heat resistant in this climate. Local groceries have the gall to charge $2 per fruit.
Now just make them into wine, age it in a cask in your basement, and in no time you’ll be swimming in cash. After a few seasons you should have enough to buy that $10M gold clock you’ve been eyeing to get out of your maintenance chores.
Need to make sure you pack the greenhouse with them.
Sounds like they’re living in a more moderate climate, kinda like a tropical island, no need for the greenhouse.
Ginger island? Yeah, could probably plant them there too.
what do they taste like?
They taste kind of appley
I always thought they tasted like a green grape. tart and sweet with a kind of solid jelly texture.
Citrus-y. Kinda like a watered down orange.
Sweet and sour, bright/tropical if that makes sense?
A friend made salsa with some once, that was pretty good
Pretty bad. A friend of mine says the taste reminds him of sperm (yes, he’s gay).
What climate is this in where they grow so well?
9b+
What system is that? Tried googling it and all I got was rock climbing despite using the word climate lol
South florida
USDA Agricultural zones. They’re based on the lowest average temp the climate can get. 1 is coldest, 13 is hottest.
9b means almost never freezes except for a few nights a year and it thaws out when the sun hits. Some perennial tropical plants can be grown there as frost tender annuals.
I’m just north of San Francisco in 9b.

I figured it was “global climate at 9+ billion population”, ie everything is on fire
Google “planting zones” the first results are maps.
Seems to be an American thing tbh. I was never going to find it without context or seen explanation lol
Im in 10 actually.
We only get these rarely at our grocery stores in the exotic fruit section and they’re usually pretty expensive then. I always loved them but sadly don’t get to eat them often. Would love a bag like that lol
wf gets sapote, cheymoya, starfruit, dragonfruit, mangosteen when its season. persimmons is a maybe.
So many!
First time had them was in Guangzhou, they are so good!
