Insane how a prop and seek ripoff did this good. Is it cuz of the kids on the Tok?
Insane why? It’s a really fun game.
I mean yes. But its old hat. Prop and seek was actually better , IMO. But I dont really like drawing a whole lot.
The whole point of friendslop games is to take a game style that already exists, spin it in a way that makes it more fun with friends, and then sell it for cheap. Hiding as props is fun, yes, but painting yourself as a prop is definitely more fun and allows for more creative freedom and skill expression.
Fun fact, the Meccha in the title is a japanese slang for “extremely good/skilled”.
I never heard of that game until today. I checked it out and I like the look of Meccha Chameleon much better.
In any case I don’t care if games copy mechanics and gameplay. If they think they can make a better version, then go for it, especially of a game whose servers aren’t operating anymore.
Exactly. Also, that’s just the nature of genres. Nobody is out here complaining that Hollow Knight is copying Castlevania or Metroid. We now have the Metroidvania genre that informs people what kind of mechanics to expect with those kinds of games.
And just because a game is in a genre someone typically likes doesn’t mean they are required to like every game in that genre.
I’m more just baffled how fast it blew up, and I figured it must be the Tok exposure. Crazy. The game is fine, I play it myself. I fear its going to enshittify fast as many meme games do though.
If it does, it cost me a small amount of money for a large amount of enjoyment. Should it come to pass that it enshittifies, we can just move on and remember the good times! No big deal.
For the moment, don’t let the hypothetical scenario that isn’t real taint the current fun that is real.
Yep totally ! Its a silly game that is fun
That may just be difference of opinion. I dont care for how shiny games are now. I always preferred dark old school texturing.
Yeah, its a bummer it shut down.
