In this episode, we breakdown the popular “inevitability” argument AI companies are using to bulldoze over democracy and how the “inevitability” line has been used to sell everything from Manifest Destiny to poverty-creating “free trade deals”.

We are joined by guest Amy Woodson Bolton, professor of British and Irish history at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.

Sony always tries this with everyone of their stupid ideas: they tell their game journalist/stenographers to always include a phrase like Sony will not change it’s decision before eventually global opposition forces them to change their decision.

We decide what the future is. Don’t let other people tell you what it is or what it has to be. Almost all of us agree this is not the future we want. Together, we will make sure it doesn’t happen. We are not as disempowered as they want us to believe we are. We still hold the vast majority of the power in the world, and we need to start acting like it and stop letting them boss us around. Resist.

If they use all the powers they have bought to punish your resistance, then unite against them and resist even harder. We’ll still win, as long as we don’t let them win.
