    I think you’re dismissing the issues that Canada will have without US trade.

    One simple example: Canada doesn’t make the aluminum sheets used to make aluminum cans. It sends the aluminum ingots to the US to be formed.

    Sure, we could build a factory to do it, but it would probably take two or three years.

    Canada will suffer a lot more in a trade war with the United States. We may be willing to do so, but we shouldn’t minimize the pain.

    From on outside perspective, it’s been kinda nice seeing the US Gov slowly enter the find out stage of fucking around.
