The U.S. Treasury Department is preventing certain journalists from covering a finance meeting among the world’s most powerful countries, the latest example of how President Donald Trump’s administration has restricted media access.
Individual reporters from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg News were not granted credentials to the Group of 20 finance ministers’ meeting in Asheville, North Carolina, the Times reported.
The Treasury has not explained the decision. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told The Associated Press in an interview Sunday that “it has nothing to do with point of view.”
Yet another 1st Amendment violation by the pedofascist GOP.
Soooo, aren’t the ones being blocked normally on his side? I think Murdoch has been fighting with him, but Bloomberg? NYT is 60% evil, that should be a pretty good bet that they’re on his side.
Stangely leopards ate my face. Maybe its a move to try and boost their credibility?
Ya know, that crossed my mind too about it boosting their credibility. With who though? Those who know about these outlets, know they suck regardless of what trump says or does.
I think this is par for the course with their behavior in other areas like research policy. They’re setting a norm where they get to veto anyone they dislike from whatever setting/project they want. They’d like to be able to fire anyone they don’t like from their job whether government or private, but it’s only feasible for certain things right now.
Like most things, its a spectrum. No shortage of stupid.
He needs “fake news” to manipulate his fans
Yeah, it’s because he’s a fascist.
