Lampshade printed out of clear PLA in vase mode, to replace the glass shade I stole from a cheap Aliexpress lamp to use as a cover for my 360° camera. The lamp was super-cheap but I didn’t want to throw it away. With the 3D-printed shade, it found a new life as a small table lamp in my office at work.

My Christmas gift to family members last year were 3D printed lamps. I got a super cheap paper lantern style lamp from Ikea and removed the socket and cord, then printed a new base (filled with sand for weight), and printed a shade using a lithopane generator to have photos shine through. I was quite happy with the results.

Hehe yes, my office is a little overrun with cables of all kinds - mostly USB cables. That’s only a small part of the mess.
The lamp was powered by 3 AAA batteries. So the other thing I did to it was solder banana plugs to connect it to the lab power supply on my desk. That’s why it’s there.
This is such a neat idea! Did you have to use IPA or do any processing after it printed?
Nope. This is straight out of the printer.
I have another one that’s printing now, that’s like twisted volutes. It should be done in 3 hours. I’ll post a photo if you want.
