At the same time, the study shows that the growing distance from the US is not reflected in a closer relationship with China. China continues to be viewed with widespread scepticism. 77% are in favour of reducing economic and political dependencies – even if this could entail economic disadvantages.

Yes obviously the attacker and the victim are both at fault.
If there wasn’t a pre-existng culture of racism and ignorance in the US, Americans wouldn’t be so susceptible to foreign influence campaigns. Sure countries like Russia, China, and Iran are at fault for manipulating Americans towards stupid and hateful politics, but Americans are predisposed towards those politics, and American tech companies have amplified the effectiveness of the firehose of falsehood strategy by targeting the falsehoods at the specific people most susceptible.
Yes, clearly the EU has no history of violence or racism. Especially not Germany. /sarcasm
