When I became an adult I stopped pirating media because I thought it was the morale thing to do. In 2025 I started pirating media because I thought it was the morale thing to do. Too many assholes get your money when you buy things, so stop giving them your money by not buying anything. It’s not like we own anything anymore.

Rather than pirate HP, abandon the series and let it leave cultural relevancy.

      It requires a nuanced look.

      • Don’t pirate anything that is independently produced. Those people deserve your money for good art. Or even passible, mediocre art.

      • Don’t pirate anything that has convinced a studio to take risks with a project. If enough people do this, the only thing the studio will make is safe, boring dreck that people tolerate but never love.

Beyond that, pirate whatever you want.

Fuhrer Potter has approved the final solution. We will soon round up the trans and force them into rail cars that will take them all to Aushwitz. You can’t stop it now. Long live Harry Potter! Hogwarts will last a thousand years! Long live the wizarding volk!

I am embarrassed on behalf of the performers to much to watch them shame themselves in a series hashed to death with an underlying source material that is tainted with controversy and not all that deep to begin with.

Jon Lithgow played one of the first openly trans characters in cinema in The World According to Garp but now feels he can do this because actors aren’t their parts.

And he is right, but I can still be disappointed by actors making choices.

if y’all like the matrix you should read simulacra and simulation, it is nothing like the matrix but the matrix pays constant homage to it anyway, and it is deserved
