This has been said for as long as I’ve been alive.
While true, AI is making it worse, as it’s corporately acceptable at the entry level tasks. I don’t envy the graduating class, it’s like graduating during a recession.
LLMs are making it feel like there is a recession, and that’s without accounting for the fact that we’re staring a bubble-pop, a rather tectonic geopolitical trade shift, and an almost-certain economic recession (or even depression) in the face.
Pretty sure that if you don’t count the magical investment circle jerk of AI we are in a recession.
That’s more or less exactly what I mean. Everything has a “house of cards” feel to it these days
And they are at their limit. There will be no more performance. Eventually people will recognize their limits.
There’s a recession for everyone except for a handful of tech companies and their investors already happening.
Yes, it has been true since the late 80s/early 90s. It is getting worse, though, as there really are no entry level roles anymore.
No learn, just work!
“New grads say the exact same things new grads over two decades ago said about entry level jobs”.
This sort of disconnection from reality is just what you expect from the MBA class.
Why would they? What’s in it for them?
Lower wages obviously
