I just kept saying “no” and gave zero elaboration whatsoever. He was kissing my winter mitten and kept asking to marry me, but I somehow didn’t catch on to the fact that he liked me. I interpreted the question as literally as a German would and thought it was just an offer to approve or decline and went on about my day.
