Steam continues to enforce their near monopoly by simply not screwing up as much as the competition.

There’s using AI for development, and then there’s proudly announcing that 100% of your product is vibecoded (which is what Epic did)

There’s also the universal constant that Tim Sweeney is a piss baby. Gabe is only favored because everyone else is a shit.

The only good thing about the Epic Games store is that it doesn’t/didn’t force you to update. I haven’t updated the launcher in years.

My entire Epic library is from their weekly free games. I also have only installed maybe two or three, then bought them on Steam or GOG.

On pc, there are many good games being given away for free. I played some of them, but most are just not interesting to me.

On android, epic is actually epic, as the only other alternative is play store, which is just gacha and unity asset flips. And it also works degoogled.

If steam could have been faster all along, why’d they wait to implement it?

One thing that i like about epic, is that it allows using third party launcher for downloading, installing and playing games. Compared to steam, where every game must be downloaded through official client, and some games just does not work without steam running in the background.
