I have tankfully never heard anyone complain about a piece of software being coded by a furry transgendered person.

In fact, it seems like a stamp of quality :P

Movies, however…? Man, I remember when the Wachowski Sisters transitioned…

If you’ve heard people screeching about “RUST BÆD!!1!” then you probably have, since a lot of these chuds considered it the Woke Language (at least before it was co-opted by slopbros)

Of course, me not having heard of these peeps does not mean they don’t exist. Just means I live under my own kind of comfy rock. (There’s room for more if you bring snacks)

Same I didn’t realize this was a thing. Even among the maga dumb fucks and hyper nationalistic loons. The stereotype of the gay trans LGBT furry being the one who’s the good IT and software guy is still a thing.

It’s like typically the only time I see them be positive about lgbtq anything or furry anything.

This is an idiotic take. You don’t ‘accidentally’ make a movie as good as the matrix. Lots of incredible authors only have one great book, lots of musicians have one great song or album. But that’s not even the wachowskis. Theyre definitely very talented, even though the matrix sequels were pretty terrible. Honestly I’d blame the producers/studio/popularity of the first one for that. Speed racer was… Fine. It wasn’t a masterpiece but it was interesting, it tried to pay homage to the source material, and it did something different. Sense8 is another masterpiece on par with the matrix though. Absolutely fantastic show, and fully disproves your theory that they’re ‘frauds’. (How would a fraud accidentally make an incredible movie anyway? People devote their whole lives to making meaningful cinema and still don’t even come close to the poignancy or layers of meaning and subtext of the matrix. If it wasn’t prescient and topical enough on its own as a societal allegory, viewing it through the lens of a transgender awakening film creates an absolutely astounding new read on an already genius story. You’re just butthurt because even if you spent your whole life striving and struggling to create something, it would never even come close to the movie they ‘accidentally’ made. And seriously. Watch sense8. It’s fantastic.

At the risk of being mauled by groupthink here I’ll just say that Revolutions had 10 hours of philosophy packed into a 2 hour box. The ending felt flat. I recently reached the whole series and I agree that the first movie aged well while the middle 2 were a letdown.

IMO if you want to make an arthouse movie don’t try to taco it onto an action blockbuster.

Glad they are happy with their genders. Doesn’t really belong in the criticism of their movies.

Speed Racer is one of those where you get out what you put in. It’s not for everyone.

For what it’s worth, I agree with you.

Matrix 1 was awesome, but the other ones weren’t as good. I don’t think Groupthink is gonna get you, because the general consensus here seems to be “movies? Take’em or leave’em”.

I think most will agree with some dude tbh. Funnily enough I haven’t seen Speed Racer so can’t comment on that, but much of the rest of what they’ve directed after the original Matrix movie has been disappointing.

The only memorable bits of 2 and 3 are the action scenes (highway chase and Neo clones vs Smith clones) and for Resurrections, not even that. Recasting both Morpheus and Smith made it even worse. Cloud Atlas… Idk, I’m sure someone liked it, I was close to falling asleep.

I will have to give Sense8 a shot one of these days, premise sounds interesting so maybe it’ll redeem them in my eyes. Cautiously optimistic on that one, reviews seem to be good.

Ah, I think I see the confusion.

I had made a remark about how people were harsh with the Wachowskis because of their gender, and your next words were that they were frauds who make trash movies.

I took that as an explanation and justification for WHY people were being terrible, so my response was meant as a general response. Not saying you were criticising them for being trans.

Reminds of a fascinating story of an prehistoric Aryan shaman leader excavated in Germany in 30s who turned out to be a witch female with a unique genetic twist that gave her an ability to go in trance at will, and she was so important, her grave received sacrifices 400 years after she died.

Would you settle for software made by autistic furry cis twinks? I know it’s not ideal but we’re a little short at the moment; I promise we’ll get a new shipment in soon. We’ve successfully introduced them to puppy play which they seem to be enjoying and we’ve got them on a steady diet of trans memes, if that helps

“AI” is kind of like the “No True Scotsman” fallacy. We’ve been through how many cycles of “If a computer can do <this>, it must be AI.” *Make a computer that does <this>.* “That isn’t how I meant. Now, if it can do <this>…” Of course, people have a hard time describing sentience and sapience, so why would it be a surprise that we have a hard time deciding if what we built sufficiently mimics them?
