Lawyers working for the Met police told a detective who had been raped by a colleague that she could not have severe trauma because she was only attacked once.

So she was raped and she’s suing. Fair. More than fair. The other side has lawyers. Are they just supposed to agree with everything her side says? Every side deserves a defense, and unfortunately, when you take up the Plaintiff side in a case, people will refute your claims. The lawyers are just representing their client. They, in fact, don’t even say anything, or what they say carries no weight legally. What they’ll do is present the evidence, and evidence regarding her PTSD is presumably via testimony of some doctor who’s saying no, she does not meet the criteria to be classified as whatever. And she’ll have a doctor or two who say the opposite.

If it’s worth being pissed at anyone, be pissed at the medical association who has set standards regarding severity of PTSD and criteria for meeting them. But that’s dumb. Maybe let courts and juries come to decisions and not invest yourself in it.

I’m from the US; Jersey, in fact (New variety). Lots of suing around here. So much so you’ll see articles, just like this one, that were clearly written by the Plaintiff’s attorney, detailing facts and how their client deserves compensation! I am shocked how any of it is legal, I don’t understand the purpose (beyond involving the public in a private matter). But I see it a lot.

That is insane, no one has a right to dictate how you may or may not feel.

What is the number of rapes needed for someone to have trauma? Is it two? Does that mean two little rapes is trauma, but not one big one? Is three rapes too much trauma?

Come on, Met Police, define your fucking line, you bastards.

(Also yes for those of you keeping score at home, there’s no such thing as a big rape or a little rape, it’s all just rape and this whole fucking premise is absurd. I am incredibly high on flu drugs and am trying to fight flu A, be gentle on me and all cops are bastards.)

The Ancient Greeks died out when they suddenly realized they were all made of marble, and stopped breathing and moving. They’re still there, you can touch 'em and give 'em high fives, they like that, they smile inside. But outside they’re dead. That’s how you know. They got that “encased inside marble” bit about them that must be rough to live with.

Milk comes in many different forms: powdered, condensed, beef, and if one were to mix the three forms together, they would get six percent milk. I tried it once, it was a bit much, but I like ice cream and ice cream is even more milk and less water than that, so I think I just have to keep going with the whole enmilkening thing.

    So, Lemmy and associates.

Is she a bastard too? The phrase is absolutist. Is a rape victim also a perpetrator of corruption and rape culture?

Go on, now’s your chance. ‘ACAB no exceptions’ is what I see daily. Put your money where your mouth is, or shut up and stop using it.

If a rapist is raped by a rapist is the rapist still a rapist?

      Check mate!

How many rapists can a rapist rape itf a rapists can rape rapists?

These are the deep philosophical questions of today.

Because those who perpetuate the systemic abuse of others through abuse of authority can’t ever themselves end up as victims of that same system?

That’s pigeon shitting on a chessboard level of gotcha right there.

The implication that a victim of rape cannot possibly also be responsible, directly or indirectly, for the perpetration of rape culture is just as foolishly absolutist as you claim the phrase to be.

I mean, probably? Police systems pretty universally force cops to act like bastards in certain situations (anything to do with labor, for one), but we can’t know what she personally did.

Ah, an enlightened centrist throwing out a phrase I have not seen once in the years I have been here to try and win some fake argument for their own fragile but stinky ego.

Do you not see how insufferable you are behaving?
