Guy who dislikes putting pineapple on pizzas goes to the region in Australia where they fkn love putting pineapple on pizzas, then gets upset about the fact.
Once you get past the cute framing (“pineapple on pizza: you either love it or hate it, but know Italians see it as an affront, right?”), this looks like a stalking horse to legitimise the idea of “religious freedom” rights, like those of pharmacists to refuse to sell birth control.
Hilarious, but also kind of ridiculous.
Pizza is not a true Italian invention, unless were qualifying basically any cheese on bread product as a pizza.
Pizza started as Tomato Pie, and Italian-American invention that was inspired by less-pizzaish things that are of Italian origin. Tomato Pie was more like deep dish, and then eventually morphed into what we know of as typical pizza today. All of which happened in the US.
“My heritage” doesnt really work as an argument for this Italian guy…
Tomatoes are from America/the new world. Pizza is as much american as it is italian because it’s american ingredients
This comment is a great example Poe’s law. Can’t tell if you are trolling or just unintentionally wrong.
Well it right in so far that what most ppl know as pizza was made in america
Another fantastic example of Poe’s law, or US defaultism.
