We currently have quite a few:
- !space@lemmy.world (most active, has had federation delays in the past)
- !space@mander.xyz (active poster, topic-appropriate instance)
- !space@lemmy.ml (active poster, inactive moderator)
- !space@lemm.ee (low activity, unmoderated)
- !space@sopuli.xyz (no active posters or moderators)
Dead instances
Do each of these communities serve a distinct purpose? If not, should we consolidate some of them?
I think the ManderXYZ instance is a nice match for the topic, but I am interested to hear what others think.
Awesome. @Bee@mander.xyz, would you be able to add Bitswap and Otter to the moderator list of !space@mander.xyz?
@Bitswap@lemmy.world and @otter@lemmy.ca, it might help Bee if you each make a post or leave a comment on !space@mander.xyz.
Thanks! Made a comment here

Here’s a local link to Otter’s comment: https://mander.xyz/post/28079448/18405909
Are you able to appoint them as a moderator?
Yes, I appointed him as a moderator now.
Thanks, that’s great!
How to add mods to the community? 😅
Open the drop-down menu on someone’s post or comment. One of the options should be “Appoint as moderator”.
Example
@Bitswap@lemmy.world can you comment on any of the community posts so I can appoint you as a moderator?
Done. https://lemmy.world/post/28335991
I appointed you as a moderator.👍🏻
