Accelerating under red flag is something that they need to punish harshly
I don’t disagree with the penalty. I’m just stunned by seeing someone being awarded 4 penalty points. Don’t recall the last time that happened.
Edit: Apparently this is the first time an F1 driver has been awarded 4 penalty points for a single offense, according to RaceFans. Mazepin was awarded 4 penalty points back when he was in F2.
Yeah this was kind of an expected punishment, hard to argue with any of it.
Accelerate into another car while no red flag=2 points. Accelerate into inanimate object under red flag=4. From a “safety first” aspect, I feel like one guy got off light. Can’t say why. /s
