I recently acquired a PS4 on very old firmware from someone who didn’t use it anymore. I knew I had to get P.T. running on this thing. Long story short, I got the game up and running and was blown away by it. The game, though short is one of the darkest, most haunting games I have ever played. It makes me wonder what could have been with Silent Hills. I’d be curious to hear the communities thoughts on this game. I’d also be interested if you played it back when it came out and what you thought of it. This game is so good. I tried running the game in an emulator too with not so great results. Apparently it’s working in ShadPS4 for some people.

    P.T. is so scary! I’m too much of a wuss to play scary games myself lol. I watched my bf play and had to close my eyes sometimes bc I was so sure of a jump scare coming xD

      I love scary games. I think once you play enough of them you get used to them. I’m usually always expecting jumpscares so I’m usually not surprised by them. P.T. got me good. I paused the game to go get food and when I unpaused it Lisa was right on my ass. I swear she wasn’t there before I paused it. Truth be told, I find the genre more entertaining than scary. Resident Evil 7, Alien: Isolation, and P.T. are probably the scariest I played. Resident Evil: Revelations was the first horror game I ever played and i’ve been hooked ever since.

    Personally, while I like Hideo Kojima’s work, I am not a fan of PT.

    Not only did it lead to severe unoriginality in many indie horror games, with plenty of shovelware and copying going on, it also just didn’t feel like a Silent Hill game.

    Silent Hill has never been scary to me. Tense, sure. But not scary. I have never been afraid of the games. Well, until recently when Ascension and Short Message came out because now I am afraid of the series’ future. I don’t even really like SH2R because of its very different gameplay direction from the original, and its blatant copying of Resident Evil. Silent Hill used to be different, it never copied Resident Evil before. But I digress.

    Silent Hill has always been a Psychological Thriller series to me. So when PT came out, it didn’t feel like Silent Hill to me. It felt like a completely new series. It was okay, but not great as a SH game, IMO.
